NEW YORK, NY - November 3, 2011. In the event of an emergency during the race on November 6, 2011, NYRR will use Send Word Now's service to communicate with its volunteers, race marshals and staff to ensure that all runners, spectators and volunteers are kept safe.
Every year, the ING New York City Marathon draws approximately 47,000 participants, 8,000 volunteers, and 2 millions spectators to the course, which runs through all five city boroughs. The partnership, now in its third year will contribute to better decision-making and quicker response times during the legendary race.
