Prior to joining Southpaw in July 2007, Mr. Axon was a Senior Vice President and Principal at CRT Capital Group, a credit-oriented brokerage firm. At CRT, Mr. Axon was a Senior Research Analyst focusing on distressed, high yield, busted convertible bond, capital structure arbitrage, and special situation equity situations.

Before joining CRT Capital Group in 1997, Mr. Axon received an MBA with Highest Honors in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago.

From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Axon was an analyst in the Global Risk Management unit of Morgan Stanley & Company.

Mr. Axon received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1992.
