New York, NY, June 25, 2007. Send Word Now, the leading provider of on-demand alerting and response services, today announced the expansion of its executive management team with the appointments of Jeremy Sterns to Chief Technology Officer and Tony Schmitz to its board of directors. As Chief Technology Officer, Sterns will lead the technical direction of the company, including software development and service operations. During his tenure, he assumed leadership roles in application and system architecture, technology operations, professional/consulting services, and intellectual property. Prior to starting ContextWeb, Sterns was an architect and project manager at Sapient implementing a variety of technology solutions for some of their largest clients, such as JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Merrill Lynch. Before Sapient, Sterns worked at Microsoft, in research and development of early versions of the Encarta and WebTV products. Sterns received a BA in Computer Science and Philosophy from Brown University. Tony Schmitz brings close to twenty years of experience as a successful entrepreneur and technologist to Send Word Now. Schmitz joins Lowell Mintz, Charles Crockett, Brian Maloney and Mitchell Orlowsky on Send Word Now’s board of directors. Schmitz was a founder and CEO of Insight First, a New York-based Web analytics company acquired by 24/7 Real Media in 2003. Prior to Insight First, he was a managing partner at MarchFirst (formerly USWeb/CKS) in New York and Dallas, where he led a team that revamped American Airlines’ entire Internet technology infrastructure. Before joining MarchFirst, Schmitz served as the Chief Technology Officer for Gray Peak Technologies. At Reach, Schmitz was the principal architect of Barnes and Noble’s e-commerce venture. “We are pleased to welcome Jeremy and Tony to the Send Word Now team. Jeremy’s strong technical background and expertise in high volume transactional systems will help lead the company toward its next generation of technology,” said Tom Shoemaker, Chief Executive Officer of Send Word Now. “Tony’s knowledge and counsel will support Send Word Now’s goals to expand its business and investigate strategic business opportunities that further Send Word Now’s leadership in the on-demand alerting and response services markets.” Send Word Now is the leading provider of on-demand alerting and response services which drive effective communication during time sensitive situations.
